What does the course entail?

The Work Ready Program is a practical Year 11 course designed to help students build the skills, confidence, and habits needed for employment and further training.

Students develop confidence in everyday situations, learn how to communicate effectively, and build positive workplace habits such as punctuality, organisation, and reliability. The course supports students to become more independent while still providing clear structure and guidance.

This course is suited for students who benefit from hands on learning and are looking to build their confidence, explore future pathways, and prepare for work or further study..

Students will gain:
  • Confidence to enter the workplace
  • Strong understanding of workplace expectations
  • Improved communication and people skills
  • Greater independence and responsibility
  • A clear starting point for future pathways, including employment or further training such as TAFE in Year 12
Student expectations:
  • ​Students are expected to participate, challenge themselves, and develop positive habits, building confidence through real experiences.
  • Completion of Workplace Learning is an expecation of this program.​

What will be covered in this course?

Students will take part in a range of structured learning experiences that focus on building real world skills.

The course includes:
  • Step by step lessons that teach workplace skills and expectations
  • Practice activities such as writing emails, speaking professionally, and problem solving
  • Workplace Learning experiences across the year
  • Excursions to local workplaces and industry events
  • Guest speakers and industry panels
  • Activities that build confidence in real situations

Students are supported throughout the course with clear guidance, regular feedback, and opportunities to practise and improve.

This program has a cost of $250. This fee covers Workplace Learning coordination, external experiences such as excursions and industry visits, and certified training opportunities completed as part of the program.
