What does the course entail?
Love photography and want a qualification that will set you up for a career as a professional photographer? You can complete the Certificate II in Photography at school, and learn how to effectively use DSLR cameras, experiment with composition and lighting, and explore a range of photography styles. In this course you will learn how to follow a design process to plan and capture images in response to a project brief, and refine your editing skills using industry standard Adobe programs.

What will be covered in this course?
Certificate II in Photography is a two-year course designed for students aiming to enhance their photography skills and knowledge. Whether you aspire to refine your photography techniques, pursue employment opportunities in the photography industry, gain acceptance into full-time training programs, or start your own photography business, this course provides the fundamental learning for your future aspirations. This course is designed to introduce basic and intermediate design skills specific to digital photography, as well as providing an interactive practical environment exploring a wide range of digital photography skills and techniques.

Expectations
- Students will need to be available for at least four college events where they will complete some units of competency. Events include College Carnivals, Performing Arts events, Visual Art exhibition, possible camp days and year group events.
- All units of competency must be achieved to the competency standard in order to achieve the full qualification - Certificate II Visual Art (Photography) (CUA20720)
- Students are expected to produce photographs for external competitions and run the College Photography Awards annually.
- There is no programmed homework for this subject. Although, if students fall behind or miss programmed classwork it is an expectation that this is completed out of class time.
