What does the course entail?
In the Music Industry Certificate course, students perform at a high level on their chosen instrument or voice, both individually and within groups. They develop composition, music literacy, live sound and recording skills, relevant to a range of music related occupations. This qualification is delivered in partnership with the registered training organisation COSAMP (RTO #41549).
Students complete eleven units of competency throughout the Certificate III in Music Industry (CUA30915) course across two years. Proposed units are listed below. These are subject to change, but a focus on performance will be maintained:

Year 11 (2022 units)
Year 12 (2021 units)
(Please note that nits of competency are subject to change) Assessment Structure Students will be assessed as "competent" or "not yet competent" for each of the competencies in the qualification. Students must achieve competency in all of the core and elective units to gain a Certificate III. If a student's work is returned "not yet competent", they are encouraged to re-submit the work as many times as required in order to achieve competency. |
EXPECTATIONS
- Music courses require a commitment to excellence in personal performance studies. As a guide, students enrolled in the Certificate III Music Industry course should be spending 30 minutes per day (5 - 6 days per week) on personal practise throughout the year, including school holidays.
- Students will develop skills to read and write using traditional staff notation.
- All music course students are expected to make a significant contribution to the College’s extra-curricular music activities. This includes such activities as weekly band or choir rehearsals, public performances and the College musical.
